Elisabeth Ivec

Elisabeth Ivec's work is very much influenced by Esoteric themes, dreamscapes & daydreams.  She likes to think of her works as “altarpieces” done on wood panels in egg tempera paint with

gold leaf, giving them an ancient, sacred feel.  Invoking the deities she endeavors to paint is how she begins the process.   She then looks at the surface as a “scrying mirror” in which she sees the image as she begins to pull it forth.

She has been painting all her life, influenced by her late Father, who was also a painter.  She has a BFA in painting from U of I, and did further studies in Florence, Italy, where she studied Renaissance altarpieces.  Many of her works are in collections throughout Europe, where she resided and showed in galleries for a number of years.

Other works of hers include book illustrations, CD covers for bands, & many commissioned portraits.
